Resilient
FRP Solutions for Every Decking Application
DURADEK® & DURAGRID® Pultruded Fiberglass Grating
Pultruded fiberglass grating panels are a strong, lightweight, low-maintenance replacement for metallic grates or wooden decking boards. Available in a wide variety of thicknesses, panel sizes, colors, grits, and resin systems.
DURAGRATE® Molded Fiberglass Grating
Light weight, high strength, resistance to corrosion, and ease of fabrication on-site make DURAGRATE® molded grating ideal for a variety of applications such as walkways, equipment screening, and sunshades.
HOW FRP COMPARES
to Traditional Materials
Won't Rust, Rot, or Turn Brittle
Fiberglass inherently resists rust, rot, and corrosion, eliminating the need for constant maintenance. A variety of resins are available for improved corrosion resistance when needed. Brittleness is a common occurance when materials are exposed to excessive sun. Strongwell FRP, however, will not turn brittle over time.
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Pound-for-pound, Strongwell FRP is stronger than steel in the lengthwise direction and weighs up to 75% less than steel and 30% less than aluminum – ideal when weight and performance counts.
Non-Skid Surface
An anti-skid grit surface can be applied in a variety of grit material and textures to accomodate any need. Bearing bar spacing can also be chosen, which changes the open space and optimizes water pass-through, keeping the surface safe for all modes of traffic.

Low Lifecycle Cost
Since FRP is corrosion resistant, it will last much longer than wood. The cost may be more up-front, but FRP will need to replaced much less with less frequent maintenance. This translates to lower labor costs and less down time.
Non-Conductive
Even in low temperature settings, pultruded fiberglass remains a poor electrical and thermal conductor, and offers high dielectric capabilities.
Attractive & Durable
Strongwell FRP is durable and impact resistant. It will not dent or deform like metals. Resists rot and corrosion, eliminating the need for constant maintenance. This combination of performance and durability offers the ideal solution in numerous applications.
Flow-Thru Design
The open area of fiberglass grating allows for storm surge water to pass through without damaging the structural integrity of the grating. Flow-thru design has the dual benefit of allowing light to pass through, encouraging healthy vegetation growth and wildlife habits.
ADA Compliant Options
All Strongwell decking offer options that meet ADA requirements for both open space and slip resistance.

Custom Colors/Finishes Available
All Strongwell FRP can be produced in any color required. This color can be blended into the resin, which runs through the entire part, and/or in a UV topcoat for added protection and color stability for outdoor applications. Different levels of grit coarseness are also available.

Grating
Fiberglass grating panels are a strong, lightweight, low maintenance replacement for wood planks and metallic grates. Available in a wide variety of thicknesses, panel sizes, colors, and resin systems.
Structural Shapes & Plate
Strongwell’s line of structural shapes & plate is called EXTREN®, which consists of more than 100 different fiberglass shapes. EXTREN® structural shapes have been produced since 1962, and are designed to provide an excellent combination of mechanical properties, electrical properties, and weather resistance.
Fabricated Structures
Strongwell has a substantial capability to add value to pultruded parts including the fabrication and shop assembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and entire shop-built structures.
Bridge Components
Due to a wide product range and array of capabilities, Strongwell can accomodate virtually any bridge project. Components provided range from structural reinforcement strips to entire bascule bridges.
Decking & Planking
Strongwell offers multiple options for decking and planking, depending on the desired surface type, installation location, and purpose. Applications include: pedestrian walkways, dock surfacing, roofing walkways, concrete forming systems, and cellular wall panels.
Ladders & Cages
Fiberglass ladder and ladder cage systems have been in use since the 1950’s in chemical plants and other corrosive environments. Even in complete immersion applications, fiberglass has outlasted aluminum and steel and required little or no maintenance.
Structural Building Panels
Strongwell’s structural building panels can be used to construct buildings or storage boxes. Since FRP is corrosion resistant and non conductive, these panels would be ideal for anything from chemical storage sheds to electrical equipment enclosures.
Stair Tread Covers
DURATREAD™ molded fiberglass stair tread covers provide an easy, cost-effective way to increase the safety of stairways. The covers feature a gritted surface and are intended for installation over concrete, metal or wood steps and for over fiberglass stair treads.
Sheet Piling and Round Pile
Composite sheet and round piles offer tremendous advantages over steel and have been used in the past decade in thousands of commercial private and public sector projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife, US Navy and municipalities.
Ballistic & Storm Panels
Strongwell’s HS Armor and HS Storm fiberglass panels are designed for ballistics and other high impact resistance. HS Armor can be produced to UL 752 requirements for Levels 1-8. HS Storm can absorb numerous impacts from flying debris, greatly outperforming commonly used materials.
Studs & Nuts
FIBREBOLT® fiberglass studs and nuts are ideal for applications requiring mechanical fasteners that must be non-corrosive, low in conductivity and/or transparent to electromagnetic waves. FIBREBOLT® studs are machined from pultruded fiberglass vinyl ester rods. The hex shaped nut is thermoplastic. They are easily assembled with a standard six point socket wrench.
