A 6,000-acre facility located in north central, Virginia, offers year-round activities, lodging, and resort options for those interested in a plethora of family vacation options.
Within the 6,000 acres of resort property, resides a massive, expansive indoor/outdoor aquatics center for those looking for a pool day.
In 2020, the waterpark needed to replace a 50′ wooden stair tower located near the lazy river attraction due to ongoing durability issues with wood. The five-story stair tower serves as the only access point for multiple waterslide options.
The owner of the facility needed the new structure to be installed and fabricated onsite with lightweight and corrosion-resistant materials. To accomplish this, EXTREN® Series 525 channels, angles, wide flanges, and I-beams were used for the tower structure, 1″ DURAGRID® T-1800 panels with 18% open space were used for the landings and stair treads, and 2″ square STRONGRAIL® and SAFRAIL™ handrails were installed to offer fall protection support.

Installed Cost

Transparency

Pultruded Handrail Complements Aquatic Park
Originally built in 1965, the Chatfield Municipal Pool is adjacently located to the Chatfield High School in Minnesota. It was recently determined that the pool either needed to be renovated or replaced. A community decision was made in 2017 to replace the pool with a new aquatics center due to ongoing maintenance issues, new safety standards, and accessibility concerns.
Movable Pool Dividers are Longlasting
Movable swimming pool divider bulkheads, manufactured by Recreation Supply Company, Bismarck, North Dakota, are designed with DURAGRID® fiberglass reinforced grating for the top and sides of each unit. The bulkheads allow commercial aquatic centers to program a wide range of aquatic activities in a single swimming pool. Racing lanes can be quickly defined and divided from the diving well and casual swimmers can be separated from lesson areas.
